Sheila Seabrook, the current warden at Woollams, is pictured above, receiving a thank you gift from Chairman, David Swift.
The Warden lives in a first floor flat on site and is on duty 17.5 hours per week, generally weekday mornings.
Sheila manages the Almshouse buildings on a day to day basis and responds to needs of residents and any welfare issues without interfering in their lives or intruding on their privacy. She is not able to provide care to residents who must be able to live independently at Woollams. The Warden regularly liaises with the Clerk and Trustees who meet at least quarterly to discuss all aspects pertaining to the Almshouses.
Sheila is a keen gardener and has made many improvements to the grounds, including driving forward a project to purchase a summerhouse where residents can meet.
